Bronchodilators Beta2 Adrenergic Agonists

Indication:

Asthma, COPD.

Mode of Action:

Binds to beta2 receptors in the lungs, causing bronchodilation.

Indication:

Chest pain, tachycardia, palpitations, tremors, anxiety.

NC/PT:

If using along with an inhaled glucocorticoid, use bronchodilator first, wait 5 minutes, then use glucocorticoid. Short-acting beta2 adrenergic agonists (e.g., albuterol) are the only treatment for acute asthma attacks!
