Indication:
Graves’ disease, preparation for a thyroidectomy.
Mode of Action:
Blocks synthesis of thyroid hormones.

Indication:
Agranulocytosis, GI upset, rash. When dose is too high, hypothyroidism (S/S: lethargy, weight gain, cold intolerance, bradycardia, depression), Hepatotoxicity.
NC/PT:
Monitor CBC levels and liver function.
