↑ Intracranial pressure (ICP), ↑ intraocular pressure (IOP), edema.
Mode of Action:
↓ ICP and IOP by ↑ serum osmolality.

Heart failure, pulmonary edema, renal failure, dehydration, electrolyte imbalances (e.g., Na, K), phlebitis.
NC/PT:
Monitor weight, I&Os, electrolytes. Expected range for ICP: 5 - 15 mmHg. Expected range for IOP: 10 - 21 mmHg.
