Indication:
Bipolar disorder, seizures.
Mode of Action:
↑ GABA in CNS to ↓ manic episodes related to bipolar disorder and suppress seizure activity.

Indication:
GI upset, thrombocytopenia, Hepatotoxicity, pancreatitis, fetal risk.
NC/PT:
Monitor liver function (AST, ALT, LDH, bilirubin) and CBC levels during therapy. Baseline liver labs needed prior to initiation of therapy.
