Indication:

Hypercholesterolemia.

Mode of Action:

Binds bile acids in the GI tract, ↓ LDL cholesterol.

Indication:

Constipation, GI upset.

NC/PT:

↑ Fiber and fluid intake. Take with food and a full glass of water. Interferes with absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K). Take other medications 1 hour before or 4 hours after taking colesevelam or cholestyramine.
